Timelines we are held to
| What | Within |
|---|---|
| Acknowledge your complaint | 24 hours |
| Resolve your complaint | 15 days |
| Remove non-consensual intimate imagery, or an impersonating deepfake, once reported | Hours, not days — this is treated as the highest priority |
| Act on a valid order from a court or an authorised government agency | As the order requires |
These are measured in our systems, not estimated. Every complaint is recorded with the time it arrived, the time it was acknowledged and the time it was resolved.
What to include
- Your name and a way to reach you.
- What happened, and where in the app.
- If it is about a person or a piece of content, enough detail for us to find it.
We never tell the person you reported who reported them. The reviewer who reads your report does not see your identity either.
Reporting inside the app
You can report any profile or conversation from inside it, and block anyone. Blocking is silent and total: they disappear for you, you disappear for them, and they are never told. Neither reporting nor blocking has ever been, and never will be, a paid feature.
If you are not satisfied
You may escalate to the Grievance Appellate Committee established under the IT Rules, 2021, at gac.gov.in.
Urgent safety
If you are in immediate danger, call 112. Women's helpline: 1091. Sakhi One Stop Centre: 181. Cybercrime, including online blackmail and non-consensual images: cybercrime.gov.in or 1930.
